The Sindh College Education Department has officially restored a six-day working week for all public and private colleges under its administrative control, with the new schedule taking effect from August 1, 2026.
According to a notification issued on July 30, colleges across the province will operate from Monday to Saturday until further orders. The department withdrew its previous notification issued on March 31, 2026, paving the way for the revised academic schedule.
The notification also introduced updated timings for both morning and evening shifts. Morning shift colleges will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. from Monday to Thursday and on Saturday. On Fridays, classes will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
For evening shift colleges, classes will run from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday through Thursday and Saturday. On Fridays, evening classes will be conducted from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The notification was signed by Sindh Secretary for College Education Nadeem-ur-Rehman Memon. The department has directed the Director General Colleges Sindh, regional directors, and other relevant officials to circulate the order and ensure its implementation in all public and private colleges.
Officials said the revised schedule will remain in force until further instructions are issued by the College Education Department. Educational institutions have been instructed to strictly follow the updated working days and class timings.
The restoration of the six-day working week follows a similar decision for schools in Sindh and is aimed at ensuring smooth academic activities and improving teaching time across educational institutions in the province.
Students, teachers, and college administrations are advised to follow the revised schedule from August 1 and remain updated on any future directives issued by the Sindh College Education Department.
