Shaheen Shah Afridi emerged as the standout bowler for the hosts, achieving a remarkable feat by becoming the first bowler to claim 50 wickets in his opening over in T20I cricket.

The series concluded with a 2-2 draw, as Pakistan secured victories in the second and fifth T20Is, while New Zealand claimed wins in the third and fourth encounters. Afridi, aged 24, showcased his prowess with a four-wicket haul, reaching the milestone of 50 wickets in the opening over in T20 cricket.

Batting first, Pakistan posted a total of 178/5, with Babar Azam leading the charge with 69 runs off 44 balls. Fakhar Zaman chipped in with 43 runs from 33 deliveries, while Shadab Khan’s quickfire 15 runs off just five balls boosted Pakistan’s total beyond 170.
