Security Plan Announced for Pakistan vs Australia ODI in Rawalpindi

A detailed Security Plan has been announced for the Pakistan-Australia ODI in Rawalpindi. The match is being played today at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Police have deployed around 4,500 personnel across the city. The goal of the Security Plan is to ensure safety for players, officials, and spectators.

Officials said the arrangements cover the stadium and surrounding areas. Security has been tightened due to the high-profile nature of the match.

Traffic Management and Control Setup

As part of the Security Plan, 328 traffic police officials have been assigned duties. They will manage traffic flow near the stadium.

Their role is to ensure smooth movement for citizens. It also helps avoid congestion during the match hours.

A special control room has been set up at Shehbaz Sharif Sports Complex. It will monitor the situation in real time.

Authorities said this control room is a key part of the overall Security Plan. It allows quick response to any emergency.

Multi-Layer Security Deployment

Police said the Security Plan includes a four-zone security system. Each zone is supervised by a senior officer of SP rank.

A three-tier security arrangement has also been placed inside the stadium. Entry points are being strictly monitored.

Snipers have been deployed on nearby rooftops for additional safety. CCTV cameras and Safe City systems are also active.

Officials said surveillance will continue throughout the match. Every movement inside and outside the venue is being monitored.

Additional Forces and Patrolling

Extra police personnel have been deployed at public places in Rawalpindi. Bus stands and hotels are under close observation.

Elite Force, Dolphin Squad, and police mobile units are patrolling key areas. These steps are part of the broader Security Plan.

Authorities said these measures aim to prevent any security issues. They also ensure smooth public movement around the city.

ICC Officials Arrive Under Tight Security

Three ICC match officials also arrived for the ODI series. They landed at Islamabad International Airport earlier.

Umpires Kumar Dharmasena and Richard Kettleborough were among them. Match referee Graeme Labrooy also arrived in Pakistan.

They were escorted under strict security arrangements. The Security Plan included 12 police pickets along their route.

Elite Force and Dolphin Force teams provided protection during travel. Roads were temporarily closed for VIP movement.

Officials said the Security Plan has been designed to ensure a safe environment. It covers both the match venue and key travel routes.
