Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has once again drawn attention to his childhood after an earlier account of his family’s financial difficulties resurfaced online.
The actor previously recalled an incident from his school days when he was asked to stand outside his classroom because his school fees had not been paid on time.
The story has attracted renewed interest as fans look back at the challenges Khan faced before becoming one of India’s most successful and wealthiest film stars.
Salman Khan Recalls School Fee Incident
During an appearance on Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle Khanna in September 2025, Khan spoke about an incident from his fourth-grade years.
He recalled being sent outside the classroom after his school fees became overdue.
According to Khan, his father, renowned screenwriter Salim Khan, initially questioned why his son had been punished.
The teacher reportedly explained that Salman had not done anything wrong and that the issue was related to the family’s unpaid school fees.
Khan recalled that his father responded by saying that if someone had to stand outside the classroom, it should be him rather than his son.
Salim Khan Arranged the Payment
According to Salman Khan’s recollection, his father then went to the principal and managed to arrange payment of the outstanding fees.
However, the situation was not resolved permanently.
The actor said that a similar incident happened again around two weeks later, highlighting the financial difficulties his family was experiencing at the time.
The memory offers a glimpse into a period of Khan’s life that was very different from his current position as one of Bollywood’s most recognisable stars.
From Childhood Struggles to Bollywood Success
Salman Khan’s recollection has received renewed attention following reports about his enormous wealth and long-running Bollywood career.
The actor has built one of India’s most successful entertainment careers over several decades, appearing in major films and developing a large fan following both in India and internationally.
His journey from facing difficulties with school fees to becoming a major Bollywood star is now being highlighted as an example of how dramatically his circumstances changed over the course of his career.
According to the resurfaced reports, Khan was also included in the M3M Hurun India Rich List, with his estimated wealth reported at around ₹3,000 crore.
The list placed him among India’s wealthiest actors, although reports noted that he ranked behind Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan in the cited ranking.
Salman Khan’s Career Continues
Despite his long career in Bollywood, Khan continues to remain active in the film industry.
The actor is preparing for the release of Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace, which is expected to arrive in cinemas after Diwali.
He is also associated with filmmaker Vamshi Paidipally’s Monster, another major project in his upcoming lineup.
With several projects continuing to generate interest among his fans, Khan remains one of Bollywood’s most prominent names.
A Different Look at the Superstar’s Past
The resurfacing of Khan’s school-fee story has given fans a different perspective on his early years.
While the actor is now associated with blockbuster films, major commercial success and substantial wealth, his own recollection shows that his childhood included periods when his family struggled to meet even routine educational expenses.
His account of being sent outside the classroom because of unpaid fees has therefore resonated with audiences who can relate to the financial challenges faced by ordinary families.
