[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]In a startling incident, a 45-year-old man has reportedly lost his life due to alleged police violence in Faisalabad, as reported by Samaa TV on Wednesday.
The victim, named Mohammad Riaz, was the owner of a workshop in the locality and was apprehended by local police under circumstances that remain unclear.
According to both family members and eyewitnesses, Mohammad Riaz was taken into custody through a combination of a private car and a police vehicle.
The incident occurred without any explanation being given to Riaz or his family members. They contend that the arresting officers did not provide any details about the reasons behind the arrest and subsequent detention. This situation raises significant concerns regarding the adherence to due process and the treatment of detainees.

An unnamed police official has acknowledged that Mohammad Riaz’s health deteriorated while he was in police custody.
The official stated that Riaz was moved to a hospital after he complained about health problems. However, this version of events has been met with skepticism, as Riaz’s family believes that the alleged mistreatment and the lack of transparency surrounding the arrest contributed to his tragic death.
Furthermore, the deceased workshop owner’s family has accused the police of taking a substantial sum of money, approximately 6 lakh rupees, from Riaz at the time of his arrest.
However, this money was reportedly not found among his personal belongings when they were returned to the family following his death.
In the wake of the incident, Mohammad Riaz’s body was transported to a mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Official authorities are yet to issue a statement regarding the cause of Riaz’s death, pending the results of the examination.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
