The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast cloudy weather for Karachi over the next 24 hours, with thunderstorms and rain expected later today, particularly during the afternoon and evening.
According to the weather department, the minimum temperature recorded in Karachi was 29.5°C, while the maximum temperature is expected to reach around 36°C during the day. Officials said humid conditions are likely to persist, making the weather feel warmer.
The PMD reported that humidity in the city stands at 82 percent, while sea breezes are blowing at a speed of 8 kilometres per hour. These weather conditions are expected to keep the atmosphere cloudy throughout the day.
The department said moist winds from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal are entering the upper and central parts of Pakistan. At the same time, a western weather system is influencing the northern regions, contributing to rainfall in several parts of the country.
Under the current weather pattern, rain is expected in parts of Sindh, including Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mithi, Sanghar, and Hyderabad. Intermittent rainfall is forecast from the evening or night of July 31 through August 2 in these areas.
For Karachi, the PMD said light to moderate rainfall is likely between the evening of August 1 and August 2. However, officials clarified that heavy rainfall is not expected in the city under the current weather system.
Residents have been advised to remain updated with the latest weather forecasts, especially those planning outdoor activities. While widespread heavy rain is unlikely, brief thunderstorms and moderate showers may affect traffic and daily routines in different parts of the city.
