The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast more rainfall across Punjab and Islamabad on Friday, while light drizzle is expected along Sindh’s coastal belt, including Karachi.
According to the Met Office, rain and thunderstorms are likely in several parts of Punjab and the federal capital over the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, Karachi and other coastal areas of Sindh are expected to receive light drizzle, bringing slightly cooler weather.
Heavy rainfall has also caused widespread disruption in parts of Gilgit-Baltistan, particularly in Diamer district, where flash floods have affected several areas, including Niat Valley, Loshi, Babusar, and Gais Bala.
The flooding has forced authorities to close the Karakoram Highway at Gini, suspending traffic on the key route. Officials are monitoring the situation as restoration efforts continue in the affected areas.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chitral district, repair work is underway in the flood-hit union councils of Broz, Garam Chashma, Shasha, and Gumbas Gol. Authorities have reopened the Mastuj-Gilgit Road for light vehicles, providing partial relief to commuters.
Meanwhile, Lahore is witnessing partly cloudy skies with cool winds creating pleasant weather conditions. The PMD has predicted more rain in the city during the next 24 hours.
The current temperature in Lahore was recorded at 29°C, while the maximum temperature is expected to reach 33°C and the minimum is likely to remain around 27°C. Winds are blowing at 8 kilometres per hour, and humidity has been recorded at 79%.
Authorities have advised the public to remain cautious in flood-prone areas and follow official weather advisories as the wet spell continues.
