[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan, introduced a variety of austerity measures on Wednesday in an effort to cut spending in the face of severe economic hardship. Most of these actions were taken against his cabinet. In a news conference with other members of the cabinet after a meeting, he said that no salaries or benefits will be given to any ministers, special assistants, or advisers. They will pay their electricity bills “out of their own pockets,” he said.
When protection is required, he said, “just one vehicle will be given and all expensive automobiles driven by Cabinet members will be put up for sale.” They will also travel in economy class on domestic and international flights.
