The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and Punjab Excise Department have opened online registration for October’s premium vehicle number auction.
The auction allows citizens to bid for preferred registration numbers through a digital platform. The facility covers motorcycles, cars, and commercial vehicles.
Interested citizens can submit their bids through the e-Auction portal until October 31. The process is available online, removing the need for physical visits.
The PITB said the platform provides access to registration numbers for different categories of vehicles. Users can participate in the auction using the designated online system.
The auction includes custom registration numbers for motorcycles and motor cars. Commercial vehicle owners can also participate and select numbers based on availability.
The online system also provides information about successful bidders. This feature is intended to improve transparency throughout the auction process.
PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf said the platform uses modern digital technology. He said it provides a secure and transparent mechanism for vehicle number auctions.
According to Yousaf, the digital process is designed to make bidding more convenient. Citizens can complete the required steps through the online system.
The move is also expected to improve the efficiency of registration number auctions. Digital processing can reduce the need for manual procedures and physical paperwork.
The PITB chairman said digital services can also speed up service delivery. The platform allows citizens to access the auction process without visiting government offices.
The e-Auction application and web portal provide online access to the complete process. Users can register and participate remotely using the available digital services.
The initiative is part of Punjab’s wider digital transformation efforts. The provincial government has been expanding technology-based solutions for public services.
The PITB has supported the digitisation of several government services in Punjab. The premium registration number auction is another service being provided through an online platform.
The digital system is designed to improve accessibility for citizens. It also aims to strengthen transparency and operational efficiency within the auction process.
Citizens interested in premium vehicle registration numbers must complete their registration before the deadline. The October auction registration window will remain open until October 31.
The auction covers multiple vehicle categories, giving users different options. Motorcycle, car, and commercial vehicle registration numbers are available through the platform.
Successful bidders can also have their details made available through the application. This provides users with information about the outcome of the auction.
The PITB said the system provides a more streamlined way to participate. Citizens can access the service without making repeated visits to government offices.
The initiative reflects the Punjab government’s broader focus on digital public services. It aims to use technology to simplify interactions between citizens and government departments.
