The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC) has announced results for a judicial recruitment examination. Only three candidates passed the written test.
The examination was held for 105 vacant posts of Civil Judge-cum-Judicial Magistrate and Alaqa Qazi. The positions were advertised by the Peshawar High Court in April 2026.
According to the KPPSC results, 3,097 applications were received for the available positions. All applicants were provisionally allowed to take the syllabus-based written examination.
However, only 1,024 candidates eventually appeared in the examination. Three candidates successfully cleared the written examination.
The successful candidates are Saba Rasool from South Waziristan, Abdullah Noor from Bajaur, and Sayed Zahid Hussain from Mardan.
The subject-wise results showed significant differences in candidates’ performance. English General and English Essay were among the more challenging papers.
A total of 1,024 candidates appeared in the English paper. Only 149 candidates passed, while 875 candidates were unsuccessful.
The Urdu General and Urdu Essay paper produced comparatively stronger results. Out of 654 candidates, 369 successfully passed the paper.
This represented a pass rate of around 57 percent for the Urdu paper. Candidates recorded stronger results in the Pashto General and Pashto Essay paper.
A total of 340 candidates appeared for the Pashto paper. As many as 335 candidates passed, resulting in a success rate of about 96 percent.
General Knowledge also proved difficult for many candidates. Of the 1,005 candidates who appeared, 687 failed the paper.
The Civil Law-I paper produced a pass rate of around 59 percent. A total of 587 candidates passed out of 996 who appeared.
Civil Law-II also recorded a significant number of successful candidates. According to the results, 537 out of 996 candidates passed the paper.
Candidates performed better in Criminal Law. The paper was cleared by 803 of the 996 candidates who appeared.
This resulted in a success rate of approximately 81 percent. Islamic Jurisprudence also recorded a relatively high number of successful candidates.
A total of 697 candidates passed Islamic Jurisprudence out of 993 candidates. The Qanun-e-Shahadat 1984 and Pleadings paper produced another strong result.
According to the KPPSC results, 775 out of 995 candidates successfully cleared that paper. The results reflect performance across the different components of the written examination.
The commission has now directed the three successful candidates to submit their required documents. They must provide the duly signed documents within 15 days.
The KPPSC has also provided an option for candidates who want their marks recalculated. Candidates seeking re-totaling can submit an application according to the commission’s procedure.
The written examination was part of the recruitment process for the 105 judicial posts. Further steps will depend on the commission’s recruitment and selection procedures.

The results have highlighted the performance of candidates across several legal, language, and general knowledge subjects. Only the three candidates who cleared the written examination were asked to complete the next required documentation.
