PIA Trails Behind Private Airlines in Domestic Flight Punctuality Rankings

On Thursday, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) released its 2023 rankings for domestic flight punctuality. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), the nation’s flag carrier, found itself ranked at the bottom of the list due to various factors, including internal mismanagement and persistent financial challenges.

The CAA report highlights that PIA’s punctuality performance was notably poor during the January-June 2023 period. Their on-time departure rate for domestic flights during this time frame stood at 58.24%, significantly lower than other airlines operating in the country.
