The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Peshawar has released a list of Class 9 students being considered for free Chromebook distribution under the Prime Minister’s Digital Pakistan Initiative.
The programme aims to promote digital learning by providing electronic devices to eligible students studying in public-sector educational institutions. As part of the process, BISE Peshawar has forwarded the details of eligible students who appeared in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Annual-I Examination 2026 to the Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) in Islamabad.
In an official notification, the board directed the heads of affiliated government schools to review the published lists and verify the academic and personal information of the students concerned.
The verification process is intended to ensure that student records are accurate before the next stage of Chromebook allocation.
Who Is Eligible for Free Chromebooks?
The Chromebook distribution process covers eligible Class 9 students enrolled in public-sector schools affiliated with BISE Peshawar.
According to eligibility information circulated alongside the announcement, students securing at least 424 marks in the Science group and 315 marks in the Arts group have been identified for consideration.
However, the board’s official notification does not independently confirm these figures as universal eligibility thresholds. Students and school administrations should therefore consult the official list and follow the programme’s applicable requirements before assuming eligibility.
The publication of the list marks an important step in identifying potential beneficiaries, but inclusion in the verification process should not automatically be treated as confirmation of final allocation.
BISE Peshawar has made the student list available through its official website, allowing the heads of affiliated government schools to check the relevant records.
How to Check the Peshawar Board Chromebook List
Students and school administrations can visit the official BISE Peshawar website to access the board’s announcements and locate the relevant student list.
Official website: https://www.bisep.edu.pk/
School heads have been instructed to examine the list carefully and confirm the academic and personal details of the students concerned.
Students who believe they meet the programme’s requirements should contact their respective school administrations to determine whether their records appear on the published list.
The final distribution of Chromebooks will remain subject to verification and the conditions established by the relevant authorities.
Documents Required for Chromebook Verification
BISE Peshawar has directed the principals and heads of affiliated government schools to complete the prescribed verification process for the students included in the list.
Schools must provide accurate student information and submit the required supporting documents to the designated authority.
The documentation includes:
- Student’s full name
- B-Form number
- Examination roll number
- Board registration number
- Academic marks obtained in the examination
- Name and details of the educational institution
- Student’s marksheet
- Attested copy of the student’s B-Form
- Attested copy of the parent or guardian’s CNIC
The verification form must be signed by both the student and their parent or guardian.
After checking the information and supporting documents, the school principal must verify the form and add their signature and official stamp.
School administrations should ensure that all information is correct and the required documents are attached before submitting the paperwork.
Where Schools Must Submit the Verification Forms
The board has instructed school heads to send the completed and signed hard copies directly to the Inter Boards Coordination Commission in Islamabad.
The designated postal address is:
Office of the Director Equivalence
Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC)
Plot No. 25, Street No. 38, G-10/4, Islamabad.
In addition to submitting the documents, school heads must inform the Director of Research and Development at BISE Peshawar about the submission.
This requirement is intended to help coordinate the verification process between the educational board and the relevant national authority.
What Happens After Verification?
The next stage involves checking the submitted information and supporting documents to establish the eligibility of the listed students.
Schools must ensure that student identities, examination records and institutional details match the information maintained by the relevant authorities.
Students should keep their examination documents and identification records available in case their school requests additional information.
The release of the list is an important administrative step in the Chromebook distribution process. However, students should wait for further official instructions regarding final selection, allocation and distribution arrangements.
Digital Pakistan Initiative Aims to Support Students
The Chromebook programme is part of broader efforts to expand access to digital learning opportunities in Pakistan’s public-sector education system.
Access to digital devices can help students use online educational resources, access learning materials and develop technology-related skills.
By identifying eligible students and verifying their records, the authorities aim to establish a reliable process for distributing devices to the intended beneficiaries.
For now, students and parents should contact their respective schools for confirmation of eligibility and follow announcements issued by BISE Peshawar and the relevant authorities.
