Despite facing an early setback in the second game of the series when they lost a wicket with just 23 runs on the board in the fourth over, the momentum swiftly shifted. The partnership between Sidra Ameen and Bismah Maroof at the crease proved pivotal, as they added 68 runs together, resetting the game’s tempo in favor of the home team.
After the conclusion of this partnership, the responsibility shifted to Muneeba Ali and Aliya Riaz. Aliya Riaz, well-known for her ability to secure victories with crucial boundaries, once again showcased her mettle. Her dynamic innings of 31 runs from just 18 deliveries, highlighted by a magnificent six in the last over, ensured that Pakistan secured the win with five balls to spare.
In the initial stages of the match, South Africa looked imposing, with openers Laura Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits forging a solid foundation for the visiting team through a 74-run partnership. Tazmin Brits emerged as the top performer for the visitors once more, scoring 46 runs. Sadia Iqbal and Nashra Sandhu each took one wicket for the home side.
Before this, Pakistan had also defeated South Africa in the first T20I, successfully chasing down the same target. This victory marked their highest run-chase in the history of T20 cricket.
