Pakistan Reveals T20 Series Squad Against New Zealand

PCB is set to announce the 18-player squad for the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand today. The series is scheduled to begin on April 18, with the Kiwis arriving in Pakistan on April 14.

Babar Azam is expected to lead the team as captain for the series, following his recent reappointment as the captain of Pakistan’s white ball team. Speculation surrounds the squad announcement, particularly regarding the inclusion of fast bowler Haris Rauf, who is recovering from a shoulder injury.

Potential players for the series include Babar Azam, Saim Ayub, Muhammad Rizwan, among others. There are indications that Shaheen Shah Afridi may miss part of the series to manage his workload, in line with PCB’s policy to preserve key fast bowlers.

The squad is anticipated to include Sahibzada Farhan, Salman Ali Agha, Iftikhar Ahmed, Azam Khan, Shadab Khan, Usama Mir, Naseem Shah, Imad Wasim, Muhammad Amir, Zaman Khan, Usman Khan, Wasim Jr, Irfan Niazi, and Abbas Afridi.

Additionally, Fakhar Zaman’s hand injury is under review, and a final decision regarding his participation will be made based on medical advice.
