Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has inaugurated a new Vaccination Center in Islamabad. The facility will serve people traveling to and from Pakistan.
The International Travelers Vaccination Center will provide vaccination and certification services. It aims to make travel-related health requirements easier for passengers.
Speaking at the inauguration, Mustafa Kamal urged travelers to complete required vaccinations before departure. He also highlighted the importance of vaccination for religious travelers.
The minister said people traveling for Hajj and Umrah must carry a meningitis vaccination certificate. The requirement is important for travelers preparing for religious journeys.
Digital Vaccination System Introduced
The new Vaccination Center will bring several services together under one roof. Travelers will be able to receive vaccines and obtain relevant certificates.
Officials will also enter vaccination records into the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) system. This will help create a centralized digital record for travelers.
According to the minister, the system will operate through a fully digital process. It will also use a cashless system for vaccination-related services.
Vaccination certificates will be verified through NADRA. This system is expected to make certificate verification easier for travelers and authorities.
Health Department and NADRA counters will also operate at airports. These counters will help passengers with vaccination and verification requirements.
Single Digital Certificate Planned
The government plans to use one digital certificate for several important vaccines. The certificate will cover flu, meningitis, and polio vaccinations.
The system will also maintain health information for passengers arriving by air. Health desks at airports will record relevant passenger data.
The minister said the initiative is part of a wider digital health system. Under the planned system, Pakistani identity card numbers will eventually become medical record numbers.
This approach could help connect vaccination information with national identity records. It may also improve access to health information during international travel.
The Vaccination Center is designed to provide services through a standardized system. Authorities also aim to keep the system operational regardless of government changes.
Focus On International Travel
The new facility is expected to support travelers who need specific vaccinations before leaving Pakistan. It will also assist passengers returning to the country.
Travelers are encouraged to check vaccination requirements before their journeys. Completing necessary vaccinations in advance can help avoid travel-related complications.
The government has emphasized digital records and certificate verification through NADRA. The initiative is intended to improve coordination between health services and travel facilities.
