US reaffirms commitment to Pakistan partnership
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio extended warm Independence Day greetings to the people of Pakistan on behalf of the United States.
In his message, Rubio highlighted the broad scope of cooperation between Washington and Islamabad, pointing to areas including regional mediation, critical minerals, energy, counterterrorism, cultural heritage, trade and investment.
He emphasized that the two countries were working to transform their potential into practical outcomes that could benefit both Americans and Pakistanis.

US diplomat recalls 80 years of ties
US Chargé d’Affaires in Pakistan Natalie Baker also shared a video message marking Pakistan’s Independence Day.
Baker recalled that the United States was among the first countries to recognize Pakistan following its independence.
She highlighted the development of relations between the two countries over the past eight decades, describing the friendship as one that has continued to grow stronger.
The US Diplomatic Mission in Pakistan also conveyed its best wishes for the country’s continued progress and success.
The message placed particular emphasis on the historical foundation of Pakistan-US relations, which have evolved through different phases while continuing to encompass diplomatic, economic, educational and people-to-people connections.
Russia highlights historic cooperation
Russia also joined the international community in extending Independence Day greetings to Pakistan.
Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Albert Khorev praised the Pakistani people for their courage, steadfastness and determination.
Khorev noted that Pakistan had followed its own distinctive path of development over the decades and emphasized the long history of cooperation between Moscow and Islamabad.
According to the ambassador, Pakistan and Russia currently maintain close and constructive relations across a range of fields.
He expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation would continue to expand in the coming years.
The Russian ambassador also wished the people of Pakistan peace, stability, prosperity, good health and divine blessings.
Concluding his message with a strong expression of friendship, Khorev said, “Long live Pakistan! Long live Russia-Pakistan friendship!”

Germany points to century-old economic links
Germany also conveyed Independence Day greetings to Pakistan, with German Consul General in Karachi Thomas E. Schulze highlighting the deep economic relationship between the two countries.
Schulze noted that economic ties between Pakistan and Germany extend back more than a century.
He specifically referred to Siemens establishing its first office in Lahore in 1922, describing the development as an important historical milestone in the relationship between the two countries.
According to Schulze, the relationship has developed into a friendship based on reliable partnership, trust and sustainability.
He also highlighted Germany’s position as Pakistan’s largest trading partner within the European Union and its role as a major destination for Pakistani products.
The German consul general further pointed to the importance of the European Union’s GSP Plus scheme, noting that around 90% of Pakistani exports benefit from the trade arrangement.
The scheme provides preferential access to European markets and has remained an important component of Pakistan’s trade relationship with the European Union.

The messages from the United States, Russia and Germany reflect the breadth of Pakistan’s international relationships as the country marks its 79th Independence Day.
