Pakistan has strongly condemned the reported Houthi attack on the Taibah power distribution station in Madinah, calling the targeting of civilian infrastructure a serious concern.
In an official statement, Pakistan’s Foreign Office said the attack on infrastructure supplying electricity to the area of the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) Mosque was a grave provocation. Pakistan said the safety of the Two Holy Mosques, worshippers and pilgrims must be respected under all circumstances.
The Foreign Office called for an immediate and unconditional end to such actions, warning that attacks of this nature pose a serious threat to regional peace and security. Pakistan has previously condemned Houthi attacks against Saudi civilian and economic infrastructure, including facilities in several parts of the Kingdom.
Pakistan also reaffirmed its solidarity with Saudi Arabia and expressed support for the Kingdom’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and security.
The statement said Pakistan stands with Saudi Arabia in its efforts to safeguard the Two Holy Mosques, protect its people and ensure the safety of pilgrims visiting the Kingdom.
The latest statement comes amid heightened tensions in the region and a series of Houthi attacks involving Saudi territory. Pakistan has consistently called for restraint and peaceful efforts to address regional conflicts.
Earlier, Pakistan strongly condemned a Houthi drone attack targeting the Holy City of Makkah Al-Mukarramah. The Foreign Office said such an attack violated Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and threatened regional peace and security.
Pakistan has also maintained that dialogue and diplomacy are essential for achieving lasting peace and stability in the region. The Foreign Office has said Islamabad remains concerned about the wider regional escalation and its potential impact on security and stability.
The latest condemnation reflects Pakistan’s continued diplomatic support for Saudi Arabia as tensions involving the Houthis and the Kingdom remain a regional concern.
