Shoaib Hashmi, a legendary writer, died at the age of 84 in Lahore.

Hashmi, a well-known theatre character, was highly recognised for his important contributions to Pakistan Television (PTV) with famous programmes such as Akkar Bakkar, Sach Gupp, and Taal Matol. Furthermore, the acclaimed dramatist had an impressive intellectual background, having earned a master’s degree in economics from Government College Lahore (GCL) and an MSc degree from the prestigious London School of Economics.
