Lahore to Launch Its First Floating Boat Restaurant on Canal Near Harbanspura

Lahore, the cultural heart of Pakistan, is set to introduce its first-ever floating boat restaurant on the Lahore Canal, a project that promises to add a new layer of recreational facilities to the city. The initiative, being spearheaded by the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA), is expected to cost around Rs350 million and is aimed at transforming the canal area into a vibrant destination for both locals and tourists.

The floating boat restaurant will feature sitting areas, cafes, and children’s play zones, offering a unique dining and leisure experience with scenic views of the canal. The PHA has already pre-qualified three companies — Babar & Co, HRD Construction, and Riyaz Enterprises — to execute the project.

Alongside the floating restaurant, the PHA plans to upgrade the existing picnic spot near Harbanspura, an area that has not been popular in the past. The new development is expected to revitalize the site, making it a more attractive and enjoyable spot for visitors.

This project is part of PHA’s broader strategy to enhance the city’s recreational spaces and provide residents with fresh, unique leisure options. The introduction of the floating restaurant is expected to become a major attraction, offering an enhanced dining experience and refreshing ambiance for people looking to enjoy Lahore’s scenic beauty in a new way.
