Karachi is expected to receive relief from the recent heat as weather conditions begin to stabilize in the coming days. The forecast was issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), offering reassurance to residents facing rising temperatures.
According to PMD spokesperson Anjum Nazir, Karachi experienced a particularly hot day on April 12. The temperature soared to 39.5°C due to strong northeasterly winds. These dry winds reduced the cooling effect usually provided by the sea, leading to uncomfortable conditions across the city.
However, the situation has now improved. Sea breezes have resumed, bringing cooler air and easing the intense heat. As a result, Karachi is likely to witness more moderate weather over the next several days. The PMD has stated that no severe heatwave conditions are expected during the next 8 to 10 days. Temperatures are predicted to remain around 35°C, offering relief to residents.
The department also indicated a slight drop in temperature around April 16. Cloud cover is expected to lower daytime temperatures by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius. Despite the presence of clouds, there is no forecast of rainfall in Karachi. The outlook suggests stable and manageable weather for the city.
Meanwhile, a western weather system is expected to enter the country on April 16. This system will mainly impact northern regions of Pakistan. However, parts of Sindh may also experience its effects. The PMD has predicted strong winds and light rain in upper Sindh between April 16 and April 18.
Cities such as Larkana could receive light showers and gusty winds during this period. These weather changes may bring temporary relief from the prevailing heat in the region.
Authorities have advised citizens to stay updated with official forecasts and take necessary precautions during hot weather. People are encouraged to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.
