Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has inaugurated the Rs. 250 million Sindhi Muslim Food Walk in Karachi’s Chanesar Town. The project aims to improve the area’s infrastructure, attract visitors, and create a better environment for restaurants and local businesses.
The inauguration marks a major development initiative for the neighbourhood. The project includes improvements to roads, sewerage, electricity infrastructure, lighting, parking facilities, and public spaces.
CM Sindh Visits Restaurants and Meets Citizens
Following the inauguration ceremony, Murad Ali Shah visited several eateries along the newly developed Food Walk.
He interacted with restaurant owners, customers, and members of the public. He also spent time with visitors enjoying the area and posed for selfies with citizens.
His visit provided an opportunity to meet local people and observe the newly developed facilities.
During the ceremony, the chief minister congratulated Chanesar Town Municipal Corporation Chairman Farhan Ghani, the municipal commissioner, engineers, contractors, and workers who contributed to completing the project.
He appreciated the efforts of everyone involved in the development work.
Major Infrastructure Improvements
The Rs. 250 million project includes several upgrades designed to improve the overall appearance and facilities of the area.
One of the key improvements is the replacement of existing sewerage lines. Underground electrical cabling has also been installed, allowing the removal of overhead electricity wires.
Roads and pedestrian footpaths have been rehabilitated to improve movement for vehicles and visitors.
The project also includes modern streetlights, bollard lights, and decorative lighting. These additions are expected to improve visibility and create a more attractive environment, particularly during evening hours.
Other improvements include plantation, landscaping, and the beautification of roundabouts. Parking facilities and diversion roads have also been improved to support visitors and businesses.
Traffic signs and road markings have been installed to help manage traffic and improve road safety.
CM Urges Other Towns to Launch Similar Projects
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Murad Ali Shah urged other town administrations across Sindh to introduce similar development initiatives.
He said local administrations should focus on improving their revenue generation and making efficient use of available financial resources.
The chief minister encouraged municipal authorities to use their budgets effectively and invest in projects that directly benefit residents.
The Sindhi Muslim Food Walk is expected to provide a more organised space for restaurants, customers, and visitors in Karachi. Its long-term success will depend on proper maintenance, cleanliness, traffic management, and the continued support of the local administration.
The project is part of efforts to improve urban facilities and public spaces in Karachi. It also highlights the role town administrations can play in developing commercial areas through better planning and infrastructure.
