The new system replaces traditional paper-based procedures with digital services.
The National Information Technology Board (NITB) and Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA) launched the new system. It provides end-to-end digital services for land records and property-related matters.
The system aims to improve transparency, efficiency, and security for property transactions. It also seeks to reduce delays linked to manual procedures.
The digital platform uses NADRA CNIC verification to confirm the identity of applicants. It also includes biometric authentication and one-time password (OTP) security.
These measures are designed to protect property records from unauthorized access. They can also help reduce fraud, impersonation, and unauthorized transactions.
Citizens can now apply for their official Fard through their smartphones. A Fard is an official document showing land ownership details.
People can also access these services through Citizen Facilitation Desks. The services are available around the clock, giving citizens more flexibility.
Property sales and ownership transfers will also be processed through the digital system. Inheritance-related property allocations will be handled through the same platform.
Information will be shared electronically between relevant government departments. This aims to reduce paperwork and improve coordination between offices.
Applicants will also be able to track their land registry applications online. The tracking system will provide updates from submission until completion.
The new process requires verification of the actual owner’s identity and consent. Officials said this can help prevent third-party manipulation of property records.
NADRA-based verification is also expected to improve accountability. It may reduce opportunities for unauthorized changes and cash-based corruption.
The digitization initiative is part of broader e-governance efforts in Islamabad. Authorities are working to move more public services toward digital platforms.
The Pak ID Mobile App is also being upgraded for additional civil services. Citizens will be able to register events such as births and marriages from home.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and ICT Administration have also introduced electronic stamp papers. These have been integrated with OneLink for digital property transfer payments.
The measures are expected to make property services faster and more transparent. They also support the government’s move toward a more cashless system.
