Iranian President Raisi Arrives In Pakistan For Discussions

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi arrived in Pakistan on a three-day official visit accompanied by a prominent delegation. Upon his arrival, he was greeted by Federal Minister Riaz Pirzada and other senior civil and military officials.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted the significance of President Raisi’s visit to Pakistan, stating that it marks the first visit by any head of state to the country following the general elections in February 2024. President Raisi is accompanied by his spouse and a delegation comprising the Foreign Minister, other cabinet members, senior officials, and a substantial business delegation.

During his stay, President Raisi is scheduled to hold meetings with President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman of the Senate, and the Speaker of the National Assembly. Additionally, he will visit Lahore and Karachi to engage with provincial leadership.

The agenda of the visit aims to bolster Pakistan-Iran relations across various sectors, including trade, connectivity, energy, agriculture, and people-to-people exchanges. Discussions will also cover regional and global developments, as well as collaboration in counter-terrorism efforts.

The Foreign Office emphasized the visit’s importance in further solidifying the longstanding bilateral ties between Pakistan and Iran, which are deeply rooted in history, culture, and religion.
