Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) President Abdul Aleem Khan has announced plans to expand efforts for creating new provinces.
He said he would soon visit Multan and Bahawalpur to build political and public support.
The announcement came during a meeting with political delegations from Southern Punjab.
The visiting leaders praised Aleem Khan for consistently supporting the creation of new provinces. They also expressed support for his position on the issue.
Aleem Khan Calls for Administrative Reform
Speaking during the meeting, Aleem Khan said the time had come for practical action.
He referred to the slogan of “new provinces, new system” and called for meaningful reforms.
He argued that the existing administrative structure was unable to address public problems effectively.
According to Aleem Khan, smaller administrative units could help resolve weaknesses in the current system.
He also referred to the recent PIMS tragedy while stressing the need for wider institutional reforms.
Aleem Khan said his party would contact like-minded political groups and strengthen its campaign.
After visiting Multan and Bahawalpur, he plans to visit Hazara.
The purpose of these visits is to develop broader political and public consensus.
IPP Plans Stronger Presence in Southern Punjab
The IPP president said public support for new provinces had already increased.
He also criticised previous political leaders over the Southern Punjab province issue.
Aleem Khan alleged that some leaders raised the demand during elections. However, he said they failed to take practical steps after gaining power.
He said the IPP has adopted a clear position on the creation of new provinces.
According to him, the party considers the issue important for Pakistan’s national interest.
Aleem Khan also said major reforms require public support.
He maintained that meaningful change would remain difficult without public participation.
New IPP Office Planned in Multan
The meeting also discussed expanding the party’s political activities in Southern Punjab.
Participants decided to establish a central IPP office in Multan.
The new office is expected to strengthen the party’s organisational activities across the region.
The visiting political delegations also invited Aleem Khan to visit Multan.
They assured him of a warm reception during his visit.
The delegations also congratulated Aleem Khan over the formation of the government in Gilgit-Baltistan.
They reiterated their support for his position on creating new provinces.
Party Leaders Attend Meeting
IPP Secretary General Mian Khalid Mahmood also attended the meeting.
Punjab President Rana Nazir Ahmad Khan was present as well.
The latest development indicates that the party plans to increase political engagement over administrative reforms.
Aleem Khan’s planned visits to Southern Punjab and Hazara are expected to support these efforts.
