Indian Tourists Urged To Register Online Before Visiting Hong Kong

The Consulate General of India in New Delhi has mandated the online Pre-Arrival Registration (PAR) for short visits to Hong Kong, lasting up to 14 days. This new requirement aims to streamline immigration processes and prevent entry denials due to incomplete documentation.

As per the consulate’s advisory, individuals planning brief trips to Hong Kong must complete the online PAR before departure. The PAR is valid for six months and facilitates multiple entries, serving as a prerequisite for Indian visitors to the region.

Implemented by the Hong Kong Immigration Department, the electronic system enables Indian travelers to register travel details in advance, expediting immigration upon arrival. A printed copy of the approved PAR, along with other essential documents like a valid passport, confirmed return tickets, hotel reservation, and proof of financial means, must be carried.

It is crucial to ensure that the PAR details match those in the passport to avoid entry issues or denial. The consulate advises strict adherence to Hong Kong SAR Government regulations to prevent inconvenience.

The PAR application process is straightforward and accessible online through the Immigration Department website. Applicants must fill out forms with personal, travel, and passport details, ensuring accuracy to prevent complications. Upon successful registration, a confirmation email with a reference number is received, which should be printed for reference.
