India Secures Top ODI Ranking By Defeating Australia
DUBAI – The Indian cricket team, known as the Men in Blue, has ascended to the top of the ICC Men’s ODI rankings, displacing their arch-rivals Pakistan. This achievement follows their commanding performance against Australia, where KL Rahul led the squad to a remarkable five-wicket victory in the first One Day International (ODI) held in Mohali on Friday.
As a result of this victory, India has secured the top spot in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) Rankings for ODIs. The ongoing 3-match ODI series between India and Australia now sees India in the lead, with two more matches to be played before the commencement of the 2023 World Cup.

This recent accomplishment marks India as only the second team in history to hold the top ranking in all three cricket formats. Despite winning the Asia Cup in 2023, the Men in Blue were previously ranked second in ODIs, trailing behind Pakistan. However, they have now amassed 116 points, one more than Pakistan.
Notably, India continues to maintain their top position in the Test Rankings and T20I charts, even though they have not secured victory in T20 World Cups.
