The Higher Education Commission has announced applications for GRE General Training under the US-Pak Knowledge Corridor PhD Scholarship Program. The initiative aims to support talented Pakistani students who want to pursue PhD studies in top universities in the United States.
According to HEC, the training program is open to Pakistani and AJK nationals with strong academic backgrounds. The commission said the program is part of efforts to improve higher education and research opportunities for students from Pakistan.
The GRE training sessions will take place in Islamabad, Karachi, Quetta, and Lahore. Candidates from different regions can apply for training at their nearest center.
Applicants must have completed at least 16 years of education to qualify for the program. HEC stated that applicants should also have an excellent academic record. The age limit for government and public sector university faculty members is below 40 years. Other applicants must be younger than 35 years.
The deadline to submit applications for the training program is June 20, 2026. HEC advised interested students to complete their applications before the closing date to avoid delays.
The commission further explained that candidates who score 300 or above in the GRE may become eligible for ETS fee reimbursement. They may also be considered for scholarships to study at leading QS-ranked universities in the United States.
HEC said the GRE score is an important requirement for several scholarship categories under the US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor program. The project was launched to strengthen academic and research partnerships between Pakistan and the United States.
The initiative also focuses on producing highly qualified researchers and scholars. These scholars are expected to contribute to Pakistan’s education and research sectors after completing their studies abroad.
