The Govt of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has approved a major step to improve healthcare services in the region. The decision includes the creation of 477 new posts at District Headquarters Hospital Chak Rawalakot.
Officials said the Govt aims to strengthen hospital services and address the shortage of medical staff. The move is expected to improve patient care and reduce pressure on existing employees.
The approval was given during a high-level meeting focused on healthcare expansion. The session reviewed the current condition of DHQ Hospital Rawalakot and future development needs.
According to official sources, the newly approved posts will include both medical and paramedical staff. These positions are designed to support better service delivery at the hospital.
The Govt has also directed that Phase-III of the hospital expansion project be included in the upcoming budget. This will ensure continued development of healthcare infrastructure in the region.
Officials said the health sector is a top priority for the Govt due to rising public demand. The new staffing plan is part of broader efforts to improve medical facilities across Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Senior officials attended the meeting, including the Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Secretary Finance, Secretary P&D, Director General Health, and former Information Minister Sardar Abid Hussain Abid.
During the meeting, participants discussed the need for further improvements in hospital capacity. They also proposed including Phase-III of the project in the next fiscal year’s development plan.
The Govt approved the proposal and instructed relevant departments to ensure timely budget allocation. Authorities emphasized the importance of quick implementation of the expansion plan.
Officials said the new posts will help improve healthcare delivery in Chak Rawalakot and surrounding areas. Better staffing is expected to reduce waiting times for patients.
