Gold prices in Pakistan declined on Saturday, with the price of 24-karat gold falling by Rs4,300 per tola to Rs436,336. The latest rates were reported by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
The price of 10-gram gold also decreased by Rs3,687, bringing the rate down to Rs374,087. The decline in the local market followed a drop in international gold prices.
In the international market, gold fell by $43 per ounce to $4,138. Local gold prices are adjusted according to international market movements, along with the applicable premium used for domestic rates.
The latest decline came after gold had gained Rs2,000 per tola a day earlier. On Friday, the price had reached Rs440,636 per tola, showing how quickly gold rates have been moving in recent days.
Gold prices have remained volatile during the past week. On Thursday, the price had declined by Rs3,000 per tola to Rs438,636. It then increased by Rs2,000 on Friday before falling by Rs4,300 on Saturday.
The movement in international bullion prices continues to play an important role in determining rates in Pakistan. Changes in global gold prices are reflected in the domestic market after adjustments based on the prevailing international rate.
Silver prices also recorded a decline. The price of silver fell by Rs56 per tola to Rs6,522. The price of 10-gram silver decreased by Rs48 to Rs5,591.
The latest gold rate is important for consumers, jewellery buyers and investors monitoring precious metal prices in Pakistan. Gold is widely used for jewellery and savings, meaning daily changes can have a direct impact on purchasing decisions.
With international gold prices continuing to fluctuate, domestic rates may also see further movement in the coming sessions. Buyers and sellers are therefore closely watching global bullion prices and currency-related factors that can influence the local market.
For now, the latest reported rate puts 24-karat gold at Rs436,336 per tola and Rs374,087 per 10 grams in Pakistan.
