Police authorities in Lahore have decided to carry out a citywide security review of all housing societies to improve public safety and strengthen crime prevention measures in residential communities.
According to officials, the audit will examine the current security systems operating in different housing societies across Lahore. The review will focus on surveillance arrangements, entry and exit monitoring, security staff performance, and visitor management procedures.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana has instructed the concerned departments to immediately improve security measures and provide detailed audit reports after the inspection process is completed.
Authorities warned that strict legal action may be taken against housing societies that fail to meet the required security standards. Officials believe that stronger security systems are necessary to control criminal activities and ensure safer living conditions for residents.
Under the latest instructions, all housing societies have been directed to enhance CCTV camera coverage and improve monitoring systems for better surveillance. Modern screening and checking systems will also be installed at main gates and other important access points.
Police officials further instructed housing societies to increase the number of trained security guards and adopt more effective gated community systems. Authorities said these steps would help restrict the movement of suspicious individuals and criminal elements within residential areas.
The administration has also stressed the importance of stronger cooperation between private security companies and management teams of housing societies. Officials said proper coordination would improve emergency response and security monitoring.
In addition, housing societies have been ordered to maintain complete and updated records of residents, tenants, employees, and visitors. Police believe accurate record management can help authorities quickly identify suspicious activities when required.
Officials stated that the use of modern surveillance technology and advanced monitoring systems would make law enforcement efforts more effective and help reduce crime in different parts of Lahore.
