Customs Seizes Dozens of Liquor Bottles from Foreigners at Islamabad Airport

Initially resistant to inspection, passengers allowed Customs authorities to check their belongings, leading to the discovery of the liquor bottles in their bags.

Notably, Customs authorities did not file a First Information Report (FIR) against the foreign nationals in relation to the liquor cases. While liquor is prohibited in Pakistan, sources suggest that officials at airports occasionally allow the sale of confiscated high-quality liquor or gift it to favored individuals.

Despite regulations requiring Customs officials to return confiscated liquor to foreigners upon their departure from Pakistan, the implementation of this policy is reportedly inconsistent.
