Dave Grohl reportedly hired a divorce attorney before publicly disclosing that he had fathered a child outside of his marriage.
On Wednesday, People reported that the Foo Fighters frontman had allegedly sought legal advice after 21 years of marriage to Jordyn Blum. The exact date he hired the lawyer and the reasons for doing so remain unknown. Grohl’s representative did not respond to Page Six‘s request for comment.
On Tuesday, Grohl, 55, surprised fans by revealing he had an affair that resulted in the birth of a daughter. “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” Grohl said in a statement on September 10. “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her.”
Grohl also expressed his love for his wife and children, saying he is committed to “regaining their trust and earning their forgiveness.” He added, “We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
The identity of the woman with whom Grohl shares the child has not been disclosed.
Grohl and Blum have three daughters together: Violet Maye, 18, Harper Willow, 15, and Ophelia Saint, 10. Following Grohl’s announcement, his eldest daughter deactivated her Instagram account, though it’s unclear if this decision was connected to the situation.
Grohl, 55, and Blum, 48, first met in 2001 at a bar in West Hollywood, California, and were married nearly two years later, on August 2, 2003.
