As of October 15, 2024, over 3.1 million seed cotton (phutti) bales have arrived at Pakistan’s ginning factories, showing a 48.27% decline compared to the same period last year, according to the Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) report.
The report states that more than 2.7 million bales have been processed into final cotton bales.

Punjab’s cotton arrivals dropped by 53.38% to 1,185,647 bales, compared to 2,543,100 bales last year. Sindh’s arrivals fell by 44.51% to 1,916,096 bales, down from 3,452,986 bales. Balochistan recorded 94,850 bales.
Traders purchased 3,200 bales, while the textile sector bought 2,590,977 bales. The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has not begun its 2024-25 cotton procurement. Currently, 507,566 unsold bales remain in stock, and 536 ginning factories are operational across the country.
