APCC Meeting Postponed Ahead of Budget 2026–27 Finalization

The Annual Plan Coordination Committee (APCC) meeting has been postponed, according to official sources. The APCC meeting was earlier scheduled for May 20. It was expected to finalize key development budget plans for fiscal year 2026–27.

Officials confirmed that the APCC session was delayed after prior scheduling by the Planning Commission. No new date has been announced so far. A fresh schedule will be issued later.

The APCC plays an important role in Pakistan’s budget-making process. It reviews development priorities and financial allocations for different sectors. It also evaluates proposals under the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP).

Sources said the APCC meeting is a key step before the federal budget is presented. It helps shape overall public investment planning for the coming fiscal year.

The APCC is also responsible for reviewing development schemes submitted by federal and provincial governments. It ensures coordination in national development planning.

In addition, the APCC recommends macroeconomic targets. These include projections for GDP growth and inflation for the next fiscal year.

Officials said the postponement may slightly affect the budget preparation timeline. However, the government is expected to adjust the schedule accordingly.

The Planning Commission had initially set May 20 for the APCC meeting. The session was expected to finalize sector-wise development priorities and funding allocations.

The APCC meeting is considered a major coordination platform for economic planning. It brings together key stakeholders from federal and provincial levels.

Budget discussions will continue once the new APCC date is announced. Authorities said preparatory work is still ongoing at the administrative level.
