Pakistan commemorates the 17th death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto

LARKANA – The 17th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Shaheed Benazir Bhutto is being observed today, December 27.

A large number of PPP workers and leaders from across the country have started arriving at Benazir Bhutto’s mausoleum in Ghari Khuda Bux, near Naudero.

Security arrangements have been strengthened to maintain law and order, while a traffic plan has been put in place to ensure the convenience of the attendees.

The main ceremony will take place at the mausoleum this afternoon, where President Asif Ali Zardari and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari are scheduled to address the gathering.

In his message on the 17th martyrdom anniversary, President Zardari has called on the nation to draw inspiration from Benazir Bhutto’s vision in order to overcome the country’s current challenges.

He emphasized the importance of collective efforts to make her dream of a peaceful, progressive, and democratic Pakistan a reality. He stated, “On this day, we honor a leader who embodied the very spirit of hope, resilience, and unwavering commitment to the ideals of democracy and justice.”

President Zardari also reflected on Benazir Bhutto’s role as a trailblazer, who dreamed of a Pakistan where the rights of all citizens, regardless of color, class, and creed, would be safeguarded.

Additionally, a public holiday has been announced in Sindh to commemorate the death anniversary of the former prime minister.
