LAHORE – The residents of Punjab can expect some relief as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued the weather forecast for the coming week, predicting rain and fog across various regions.
Over the weekend, cloudy weather is expected, with rain and thunderstorms likely to impact areas such as lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, and upper Punjab. The mountainous regions of upper KP, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir are also forecasted to receive snowfall.

For residents of Punjab, the forecast brings a much-needed break from the ongoing smog. Rain and thunderstorms are likely to help clear the air, especially in the Potohar region. However, foggy conditions are expected to persist in the plains of Punjab and upper Sindh.
For Sunday and Monday, continued smog and fog are expected to affect the plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh, while most other regions will remain dry with cold temperatures in the northern areas.
By Tuesday, dense smog and fog are anticipated to continue in the plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh. The rest of the country is expected to experience dry conditions.
Residents in affected areas are advised to take precautions due to the expected fog and smog, which could reduce visibility and impact air quality.
