UWC Pakistan has opened applications for its 2027 intake, giving eligible students an opportunity to study at United World Colleges institutions around the world.
The application process opened on September 1, 2026. Students can submit their applications online until September 30, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Pakistan Standard Time.
UWC Pakistan is part of the United World Colleges network. The international education network has schools and colleges across different countries and continents.
Students selected through the UWC Pakistan national committee may receive placement at a UWC school or college. Final placement depends on the selection process, application route and available spaces.
Applicants should first check the age, academic and residency requirements. UWC Pakistan has also introduced an online age calculator to help students determine whether they qualify.
Candidates applying through the national committee must be 16 or 17 years old when the academic year begins in 2027. Students who will remain under 16 by September 2027 should apply during a later intake.
Applicants who will be over 18 when the college term begins cannot receive an age exemption under the stated requirements.
For academic eligibility, students must have completed at least 10 years of formal education when applying. They must also be enrolled to complete 11 years of education by September 2027.
Students following O Level, Pre-IB, Matric or first-year Intermediate programmes may qualify if they meet the required conditions.
UWC Pakistan also considers academic performance during the selection process. However, the organization looks beyond grades and considers students’ interests, values, activities and commitment to learning.
The minimum academic benchmark varies by education system. O Level applicants should have at least 80 percent overall, with mostly A and A* grades.
Matric students need at least 80 percent. Aga Khan Board applicants require Grade A or at least 80 percent. Intermediate Part I applicants also need Grade A or at least 80 percent overall.
Applicants may need to provide examination results, academic transcripts and other education records. Students without a required result may submit a written explanation if their school did not conduct the relevant examination.
Candidates applying through the UWC Pakistan national committee must be Pakistani citizens. Dual nationals can also apply, but they must be living in Pakistan when submitting their applications.
Students who do not meet the national committee requirements can explore the UWC International Application Pathway.
UWC Pakistan also looks for students with intellectual curiosity, personal responsibility and the ability to work with people from different backgrounds.
Applicants should demonstrate qualities such as resilience, integrity, teamwork and a desire to make a positive contribution to their communities.
English is mainly used for teaching at UWC schools. Applicants do not need complete fluency when applying, but they should have basic English skills and a willingness to improve.
The application includes personal information, academic history, extracurricular activities and reasons for joining UWC. Candidates must also complete essays and short written responses.
Applicants may need to describe a personal project or activity through which they created a positive impact. Academic records and other required documents must also be uploaded.
A parent or legal guardian must provide the required signed permission. Students should carefully review all instructions before submitting their applications.
The selection process begins with a review of applications and supporting documents. Shortlisted candidates may take written assessments covering logical reasoning, problem-solving and English skills.
The process may also include group activities and individual panel interviews. These stages assess communication, teamwork, leadership and other important qualities.
Successful candidates may be nominated by the national committee for placement at UWC schools and colleges.
Students applying through the UWC Pakistan national committee can also be considered for financial support. Successful applicants may receive full or partial funding based on demonstrated financial need.
However, selection does not automatically guarantee a fully funded scholarship. The level of financial support depends on the applicant’s financial assessment, available funding and placement.
