“US Lawmaker Maryam Khan Assaulted After Eidul Azha Prayers, Suspect Arrested”

Rep. Maryam Khan of Connecticut, who is of Pakistani origin, was attacked after attending Eidul Azha prayers in the state’s capital city of Hartford, according to American media sites on Saturday.

According to The New York Times, police have apprehended a suspect in connection with the assault, which occurred on Wednesday and resulted in minor injuries for Maryam, the first Muslim elected to the Connecticut House of Representatives and a Democrat.
