Applications for MBBS admissions to private medical colleges in Punjab have opened for the 2026-27 academic session. The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has set November 6, 2026, as the last date to apply. The university will manage the admission process through a centralised system under the Punjab government’s admission policy.
The first selection list for private medical colleges will be announced on November 18, 2026. Eligible candidates from across Pakistan and overseas Pakistanis can apply, provided they meet the prescribed admission criteria.
Students planning to pursue medical education in Punjab are advised to complete their applications before the deadline and carefully review the eligibility requirements.
How to Apply for MBBS Admissions 2026-27
UHS has launched a dedicated online portal for applications to private medical colleges. Candidates can submit their applications through the official portal:
MBBS Application Portal: https://privatembbs.uhs.edu.pk
Applicants should provide accurate academic information and ensure they meet the required eligibility criteria before submitting their applications.
The university has also advised students to review the fee structures, locations and available facilities of different colleges before making their choices. This can help applicants select institutions that suit their academic needs and financial circumstances.
All merit lists and selection lists will be published on the UHS website.
MBBS Admission Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the minimum academic requirements to qualify for admission to private medical colleges in Punjab.
Applicants must have at least 60% marks in FSc Pre-Medical or an equivalent qualification. They must also secure a minimum of 55% marks in the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) to be eligible for MBBS admission.
Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. Selection will depend on the candidate’s overall merit and the availability of seats.
How Will MBBS Merit Be Calculated?
UHS will calculate merit using marks obtained in Matriculation or an equivalent examination, FSc Pre-Medical or an equivalent qualification, and MDCAT results.
Matriculation marks will carry 10% weightage, while FSc Pre-Medical marks will account for 40%. The MDCAT result will carry the highest weightage at 50%.
This means MDCAT performance will have the greatest influence on a candidate’s overall merit score. Students should check their academic records and test results carefully when completing their applications.
Number of Private Medical Colleges and Seats
Punjab has 34 private medical colleges offering approximately 4,500 MBBS seats. These institutions provide opportunities for students seeking medical education outside the public-sector college system.
The centralised admission process will help manage applications and selection across participating private medical colleges.
Candidates are encouraged to compare colleges before submitting their preferences. Tuition fees, location, facilities and other expenses may vary between institutions.
Private BDS Admissions Schedule 2026-27
UHS has also announced the schedule for admissions to private dental colleges in Punjab.
Applications for Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programmes will open on December 18, 2026, and remain available until January 1, 2027. The first selection list for private dental colleges is scheduled to be announced on January 13, 2027.
Punjab has 18 private dental colleges offering approximately 1,100 BDS seats.
For BDS admission, candidates must obtain at least 50% marks in the MDCAT and at least 60% marks in FSc Pre-Medical or an equivalent qualification.
BDS Application Portal: https://privatebds.uhs.edu.pk
Students applying for dentistry should follow the separate schedule and use the dedicated BDS portal rather than the MBBS application website.
Fee Submission After Selection
Candidates who secure admission will have three days to deposit their fees and join their respective colleges. Applicants should therefore monitor the selection lists and remain prepared to complete the admission formalities within the specified period.
Students should also confirm the fee structure and payment requirements of their selected college before making a final decision.
With MBBS applications now open, prospective medical students should review the admission policy, prepare the required information and submit their applications before November 6, 2026.
