Three-Year-Old Child in KPK Charged With Electricity Theft

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]In a surprising incident in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, three-year-old Zaeem Abbas was accused of electricity theft. The FIR, filed by Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) and the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), was later dismissed by the Additional Sessions Judge upon receiving an affidavit.

This incident coincides with revelations of significant electricity theft losses amounting to Rs 438 billion across various Power Distribution Companies (DISCOs).

In response, the federal government has deployed Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officers to DISCOs to combat electricity theft and improve loss recovery.
