Summer Vacations Turn Unexpected for Teachers — New Orders Change Everything

The District Education Authority has issued new instructions for government school staff as summer vacations begin. The order focuses on attendance and exam duties during the holiday period.

Officials said that school employees must remain available in their institutions during summer vacations. The decision aims to support ongoing intermediate examinations across the district.

According to the notification, teachers may also be assigned duties at nearby examination centres. These duties will be given if additional staff is required during board exams.

However, teachers who are already performing examination duties have been exempted from school attendance. School heads have been instructed to arrange substitute staff where needed for exam supervision.

The authority has also set strict attendance requirements. All school staff must report to their respective institutions on May 22 and May 25 without exception.

Officials explained that these dates are important for administrative monitoring. Attendance will be checked closely during this period of summer vacations.

If examination centres face a shortage of invigilation staff, additional school employees may be deployed. This step is meant to ensure smooth conduct of examinations.

Education officials emphasized that academic discipline must be maintained even during holidays. Schools are expected to remain functional in terms of exam-related responsibilities.

Meanwhile, board authorities have confirmed a break in the examination schedule. No intermediate exam papers will be conducted from May 26 to May 31.

This break has been announced due to Eid al-Azha holidays. It is expected to provide relief to students and staff during summer vacations.

Despite the holiday period, administrative duties will continue in some cases. School management has been advised to stay alert for any exam-related requirements.

Authorities also urged all institutions to follow the instructions carefully. They warned that attendance monitoring will remain active throughout the vacation period.

Officials said the main goal is to ensure proper examination management. At the same time, the system aims to balance responsibilities during summer vacations.

The District Education Authority added that cooperation from staff is essential. Proper coordination will help maintain smooth operations during exams and holidays.
