State Bank Announces Assistant Director Jobs 2026

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced new career opportunities for young and talented candidates under its State Bank Officers Training Scheme (SBOTS).

The latest recruitment drive is for the 29th batch of SBOTS and includes positions of Assistant Director (OG-2). The positions are based in Karachi.

The central bank is seeking candidates who want to build careers in areas including monetary policy, financial markets, banking supervision and Islamic finance.

Other areas include financial inclusion, digital financial services, information technology, finance and risk management. Opportunities are also available in internal audit, strategic planning, external communications and human resources.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s or equivalent degree with at least 16 years of education. They must have secured at least 60 percent marks where the percentage system applies.

Candidates with a GPA must have at least 2.5 out of 4.0 or 3.5 out of 5.0. Degrees must be awarded by HEC-recognised Pakistani or foreign institutions.

Eligible fields include Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Commerce, Finance and Statistics. Candidates with degrees in Data Sciences, Actuarial Sciences, Accounting and Computer Sciences can also apply.

Other eligible fields include Information Systems and Technology, Mathematics, Human Resource Management and Islamic Banking and Finance. Degrees in Law, Media and Culture Studies, Philosophy and Physics are also accepted.

The advertisement also allows candidates with Agriculture Management qualifications. However, BSc or MSc degrees in Agriculture are not eligible under the stated criteria.

Candidates holding foreign degrees will be required to provide an equivalence certificate issued by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

The maximum age limit is 26 years as of August 30, 2026. However, candidates from certain categories will receive a three-year age relaxation.

The relaxation applies to female candidates, transgender persons and minorities. Candidates from Balochistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and former FATA areas can also receive the relaxation.

The bank offers candidates the opportunity to work in important areas linked to Pakistan’s financial and economic system. Selected candidates will be able to develop professional experience across different areas of central banking.
