Star Pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi’s Grand Valima Reception in Islamabad

Pakistani fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, who recently married Ansha Afridi, the daughter of former captain Shahid Afridi, celebrated their valima reception in Islamabad on Thursday evening. The couple’s nikah took place earlier this year, followed by Ansha’s Rukhsati (seeing-off ceremony) on September 19 in Karachi.
Shaheen donned a traditional all-black three-piece suit with a matching shirt, a customary choice for Pakistani grooms at valima receptions. However, photographs of the bride were not shared, as the family maintained a strict privacy policy.

Shahid Afridi was also spotted wearing a black coat and pants with a white shirt.
The event not only marked the star pacer’s valima but also attracted significant attention due to the presence of various social and cricket-related personalities.

Videos and pictures from the celebration showcased Shaheen’s teammates, including Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam, and Imam-ul-Haq. Other individuals from the cricketing fraternity, such as Lahore Qalandars’ Atif Rana, Sameen Rana, and Aqib Javed, also came to extend their best wishes to the newlyweds.
In addition to these cricketing luminaries, young pacer Naseem Shah, Fakhar Zaman, and Mohammad Rizwan added to the festivities with their warm wishes and congratulations.
The wedding celebrations of the couple have been the talk of the town, and this reception was a grand follow-up to their union.
The wedding festivities commenced with a mehndi ceremony on Monday.
Shaheen and Ansha tied the knot in February, with their nikah taking place at a local mosque in Karachi, attended by close relatives from both families.

The couple’s engagement had occurred two years prior to the wedding.
In an earlier interview, Shaheen had expressed his desire to marry Ansha, saying, “It was my wish, and Alhumdulillah, it is fulfilled now.”
When asked if Ansha felt jealous of his female fan following, Shaheen humorously responded, “I am not sure, maybe she feels something like that.”
Furthermore, he addressed concerns about disappointing his female fans by getting engaged at a young age, stating, “I found my heart, and that’s enough for me.”
