Sindh Govt Announces to Ban Pillion Riding In Various Districts

Karachi, Sep 22, 2023 – To ensure peace and security during upcoming religious processions, the Sindh Home Department has imposed a temporary ban on pillion riding in Karachi and select districts. This move follows a recommendation from the head of Sindh Police and aims to prevent potential disturbances.

Why the Ban: The ban is a precautionary measure to maintain order during significant religious gatherings.

Legal Framework: It’s enforced under Section 144 (6) of the Criminal Procedure Code in designated zones.
