Shehbaz Sharif Meets Saudi Crown Prince Post-Umrah

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Sunday, affirming their shared commitment to further bolstering the bilateral relations between Islamabad and Riyadh.

During his three-day visit to the Kingdom, PM Sharif, who also performed Umrah, attended an Iftar dinner hosted by MBS at Al-Safa Palace in Mecca, accompanied by a delegation including Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz.

A statement from the Saudi state-run agency mentioned that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman hosted an Iftar at Al-Safa Palace in Makkah, attended by the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Crown Prince of Bahrain, where they all broke their fast together.

The Saudi Crown Prince warmly welcomed the premier and his delegation, and their discussions covered various topics such as bilateral relations, mutual interests, and trade and investment matters.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman extended a special invitation to the delegation for an Iftar, which was attended by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and members of the federal cabinet.

The purpose of the Pakistani Prime Minister and his delegation’s visit to the Kingdom was to strengthen ties and finalize development projects, including potential Saudi investment in the Reko Diq project.

This visit by Sharif underscores the deep-rooted religious and cultural ties between Islamic nations, with both sides committed to enhancing economic and investment relations.
