Section 144 Imposed in Murree Ahead of Independence Day

Authorities have imposed Section 144 in Murree as part of enhanced security arrangements. The restrictions will remain in place from August 10 to August 16.

The decision comes ahead of Independence Day celebrations. Officials said additional security and traffic measures have been introduced during the period.

Murree District Police Officer Raza Tanveer Sipra shared details in a video message. He said the measures aim to protect tourists and local residents.

According to the DPO, access to Mall Road will be restricted during the security period. Only families will be allowed to proceed towards the popular tourist area.

Groups consisting of non-family individuals will not be permitted to enter Mall Road. The restriction is intended to help maintain public order during the busy period.

Police have also warned against activities that could disturb peace in the city. Hooliganism, misbehavior and other disruptive actions will not be tolerated.

The authorities have also prohibited aerial firing and the public display of weapons. Police will take action against anyone violating these restrictions.

The DPO also warned people against dangerous driving activities. Individuals involved in wheelies or other risky stunts will face action.

Authorities have urged residents and tourists to avoid fireworks. People have also been advised to stay away from other illegal activities.

The Section 144 restrictions are aimed at ensuring a peaceful environment during Independence Day celebrations. Police will monitor public areas and take action against violations.

Sipra said indiscriminate action would be taken against people found violating the restrictions. He urged everyone to follow the instructions issued by authorities.

The special arrangements also include traffic management measures. These steps are intended to manage the expected movement of tourists during the holiday period.

Murree attracts large numbers of visitors during national holidays. The increased tourist activity can place additional pressure on roads and public areas.

Authorities have therefore emphasized the importance of following traffic and security rules. Visitors have been asked to cooperate with police personnel deployed across the city.

The DPO appealed to citizens and tourists to celebrate Independence Day peacefully. He stressed the need to maintain law and order throughout the celebrations.

Police said protecting the lives and property of the public remains their top priority. The authorities also urged people to report activities that could threaten public safety.

The Section 144 order will remain effective throughout the announced period. Residents and visitors are expected to comply with all restrictions.

The measures are designed to prevent disorder and reduce risks during the celebrations. Police will continue monitoring the situation and enforcing the announced restrictions.
