Vaccination services for passengers travelling from Karachi to Saudi Arabia have reportedly been disrupted following the removal of an emergency vaccination counter operated by Border Health Services-Pakistan (BHS-P) at Jinnah International Airport.
According to a report published by Samaa on October 24, 2026, only 4,000 vaccine doses remain in stock, and these have been reserved for passengers who have already paid the required fee. The reported shortage and reduction in staffing have raised concerns about access to mandatory vaccinations for travellers preparing for Umrah and other eligible journeys to Saudi Arabia.
The development comes days after authorities extended the deadline for implementing vaccination-certificate checks at Karachi airport until November 20, 2026. Passengers have been given additional time to fulfil the applicable requirements, but the reported disruption could make it harder for those who have yet to complete the process.
Emergency Vaccination Counter Removed at Karachi Airport
The emergency vaccination counter previously operated by Border Health Services at Karachi airport has reportedly been removed, limiting the vaccination facilities available to departing passengers.
According to the report, the airport dispensary continues to provide services for passengers who have already paid in advance. However, the remaining stock of approximately 4,000 doses has been reserved exclusively for this group.
This arrangement could create difficulties for passengers who have not yet completed their vaccination process or paid the required fee, particularly those approaching their scheduled departure dates.
