Saqib Chadhar Found Responsible in NCCIA Probe

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has found Punjab Assembly member Saqib Chadhar responsible during an investigation into allegations of harassment and threats made by actress Momina Iqbal, according to court proceedings in Lahore.

The case was heard before Additional Sessions Judge Nusrat Siddiqui, who presided over interim bail petitions filed by Saqib Chadhar and his wife, Sameera. Lawyers representing both parties appeared before the court to present their arguments.

Advocate Adnan Ehsan represented actress Momina Iqbal, while Rana Maroof appeared on behalf of Saqib Chadhar. During the hearing, the investigation officer informed the court that the inquiry against the Punjab lawmaker had been completed and that he had been found responsible during the investigation.

The officer also told the court that Sameera had submitted her mobile phone to the NCCIA two days earlier. The device has since been sent for forensic examination as part of the ongoing investigation into the allegations.

Momina Iqbal’s legal counsel urged the court to reject the interim bail applications, arguing that releasing the accused could pose a threat to the actress. The prosecution maintained that the investigation had uncovered sufficient material to continue legal proceedings.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court extended the interim bail of Saqib Chadhar and his wife until September 3. The judge also directed the lawyers to present final arguments at the next hearing before making a decision on the bail petitions.

The case was registered by the NCCIA after actress Momina Iqbal filed a complaint alleging harassment and threats. The investigation remains ongoing, with forensic analysis of the submitted mobile phone expected to become part of the evidence reviewed during future court proceedings.

No final ruling has yet been issued by the court regarding the allegations, and the matter remains under judicial consideration.
