Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has officially made his public debut on Instagram, sharing his first post featuring photographs of himself spending time in a library. The move has attracted attention from fans, particularly because the actor previously admitted that he used a private Instagram account but had little interest in social media.
Posting under the name Saif Ali Khan Pataudi, the Race actor shared two photographs that appeared to have been taken at the Pataudi Library. His caption read, “Pataudi Library… Judging books by their cover”.
In the first picture, Khan can be seen browsing books arranged on shelves. The second photograph shows him reading while seated in a leather-cushioned chair with a footrest.
Rather than beginning his public social media journey with a promotional announcement or a film update, the actor chose to share a quiet moment centred on books and reading.
Saif Ali Khan Appears to Follow Only Kareena Kapoor Khan
Following the launch of his public Instagram account, Khan appeared to be following just one person: his wife, Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan.
The limited following list has drawn attention from fans, given the actor’s previously expressed reservations about social media. His first post also offered a glimpse into his personal interests rather than focusing on his film career.
Khan has maintained a relatively low public profile on social media compared with several other Bollywood celebrities. His decision to create a public account could give fans a new way to follow his activities, although it remains unclear how frequently he intends to post.
The actor has not publicly explained what prompted him to join Instagram or whether he plans to use the platform regularly.
Actor Previously Revealed He Had a Secret Instagram Account
Khan’s Instagram debut is particularly interesting because he had already spoken about using the application privately.
In an interview with Hindustan Times around two years ago, the actor revealed that he had the Instagram app installed and occasionally browsed content through a secret account.
He explained that he did not particularly enjoy spending time on the platform and often considered deleting the application after browsing for a while.
At the time, Khan was also asked whether he might eventually create a public social media account.
His response suggested that the possibility was not entirely ruled out. He indicated that he might join social media in the future, leaving the door open despite his limited enthusiasm for the platforms.
His latest move appears to fulfil that possibility, turning his previously private interest in Instagram into a public presence.
A First Post Focused on Books and Reading
Khan’s choice of photographs has also become a talking point. Instead of sharing a selfie, a family photograph or a film-related announcement, he introduced his account through images of himself in a library.
The caption, which humorously referred to judging books by their covers, added a playful touch to the post.
The photographs showed the actor browsing the shelves and reading in a relaxed setting. The library backdrop offered fans a different glimpse of the star, whose career has spanned several decades in Hindi cinema.
His understated introduction stands apart from the highly promotional content that often accompanies celebrity social media launches.
Whether the actor will continue sharing personal interests, family moments or professional updates remains to be seen.
Saif Ali Khan’s Bollywood Career
Saif Ali Khan has built a long career in Indian cinema, appearing in films across several genres. His notable projects include Kal Ho Naa Ho, Race, Omkara and Vikram Vedha.
Over the years, he has taken on a range of roles, from romantic comedies and commercial action films to critically acclaimed dramas.
Khan is married to actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, and the couple have two sons. Despite their public profiles, the family has generally maintained boundaries around some aspects of their private lives.
His new Instagram account could offer audiences another channel for occasional updates about his projects and interests, depending on how actively he chooses to use it.
What Is Saif Ali Khan Working On?
Professionally, Khan continues to be associated with projects in Indian cinema. The supplied report also mentions Haiwaan, directed by Priyadarshan and co-starring Akshay Kumar.
His public Instagram debut may provide a direct platform for sharing updates about upcoming releases, behind-the-scenes moments and other professional activities.
However, no regular posting schedule or specific social media plans have been announced.
For now, the actor’s first post has drawn attention for its simple theme and the contrast between his earlier reluctance to join social media publicly and his decision to establish an official presence.
As fans begin following his account, it remains to be seen whether he will become a frequent Instagram user or continue to keep his online activity limited.
