RDA’s Crackdown on 16 Illegal Housing Schemes in Rawalpindi

The joint efforts of the district administration, local police, and the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) led to the successful crackdown on 16 unauthorized housing projects across various areas in Rawalpindi.

This operation, conducted in Mouzas Adhwal, Cighu, Chak Cighu, Bhal, Titral, Hoon, Gojra Chak, Ralla, Ralla Gujra, Banda, Wariyam Malokra, Gurha Bertha, Kuri Khuda Bakhsh, and Bagga Sheikhan, involved the dismantling of primary entrances, guard stations, boundary walls, barriers, and road infrastructure associated with these illicit developments.

The RDA spokesperson confirmed that the targeted unlawful housing projects included Hoon Farm, Theme Park, Cighu Farm House, Green Hawks/Flaura Farms, Freedom Smart Home, Islamabad Forms Phase-I/II, Shahzain Town, Atlantic City, Attar Farms, Project of BSM Developers, Green View, Lake View City/Lake Garden Green Farm House, Green Stone, and Gulberg Garden in Rawat Rawalpindi.

Saif Anwar Jappa, the Director General (DG) of RDA, underscored that these actions were prompted by public complaints and aimed to combat fraudulent activities linked to illegal housing ventures that exploit citizens. Jappa stressed that individuals who had completed the requisite documentation were granted land possession rights.

He urged citizens to refrain from investing in unauthorized housing projects and advised them to buy and sell properties exclusively in approved housing developments. Jappa disclosed that prior notifications had been issued to the owners and sponsors of these illegal housing schemes, and legal actions had been taken to halt unlawful advertising, bookings, and development activities. Furthermore, he pointed out that some owners had operated unlawful booking offices in violation of regulations, underscoring the importance of vigilance among potential property buyers.
